Mounted My Racing Wheels
I had to change some wheels around trying to come up with a matching pair for 1/2 Done. Couldn't come up with anything good but thought I'd put my new (to me) aluminum racing wheels on the old wagon while I has the jack and a lug wrench right there. They're not quite Motorwheel Flys or Cragar Super Tricks but thought they might due for the price. Junkyard Jeff and I picked these up a couple of months ago and had my old neighbor machine the center hole a little larger so they'd fit. It's the first I've touched that thing in years.
It's not much but I thought it looked pretty neat. It may be the beginning of something.

How did it feel to play with it? I'm sure it was fun. Keep going Doug!

Re: Mounted My Racing Wheels
The Dr. told me not to lift anything heavy or go up and down steps. It's downstairs in the lower garage. Guess I'll just have to fall down the steps to get there. Been pricing getting the front of the old Merc chromed. Man, that's a shocker. That's going to double my investment in it. Being an old 4 door I guess it's not really an investment, it's more like just throwing money away. The poor old thing's been pretty well stripped down and getting ready to cut the back fenders up for the Packard taillights.

Re: Mounted My Racing Wheels
You know that that wheel is a spare from a Lincoln. Not ment to be used faster than 55. I have one in each of my Falcons.

Go with chrome powder coat for the grill on the Merc.

Re: Mounted My Racing Wheels
Yeah, but with regular tires they should do fine. Plenty of 16" tire to choose from. I didn't plan on running the tires that say TEMPORY in big letters all over the side wall. Don't figure the rims will come apart.puddin head wrote:You know that that wheel is a spare from a Lincoln. Not ment to be used faster than 55. I have one in each of my Falcons.

Re: Mounted My Racing Wheels
I think the rims may be 4" wide. Gonna be interesting tire to fit it. Like a 175 or 185. I'm interested on what's available. I like these rims too.

Re: Mounted My Racing Wheels
Here is what I used on the front. 2 mini spares. Most would over look them but the rim is 15X4.
These cost me less than $100.00 for both.

Re: Mounted My Racing Wheels
I can get the tire size if you need it Terry but these are 15 and not 16's. 16's may be hard to get in a skinny
