backfiring 350
Was driving home from work and out of the blue the wagon starts missing and backfiring under load , well I checked the distributor and wires.all seem fine. The carb is a little rich but nothing out of the ordinary. Anything you guys think I'm over looking?

Got a crack in the distributor cap? Lock down tab is tight on the actual distributor?

I agree.... Check the coil. Had a Unlite cap do that once. The carbon was bad and worn down. Couldn't believe it still ran.
Good luck!

Re: backfiring 350
What year 350 with which dizzy in it? If still running points, that is likely your problem.... among other things.
I just saw your avatar picture, if it is that wagon, it might be the module under the dizzy cap.

Running a1985 350 with an Accel performance HEI distributor. It doesn't start missing until it warms up.

Heat related - breaking down module in dizzy? My guess. The old HEI modules got pretty cheap last I knew. A thorough going over of the HEI sounds like it is in order.

Yeppers, I agree here. Those modules are a pain when they start to go south.
