Thanks everybody. This is just the start of the next steps. I plan on continuing and progressing on through the belts and training. It was a long but great evening.

No, I train at Stillwater Taekwondo in Alexandra. Our Dojang is in the same plaza as the Auto Zone where we had the cruse in's on Thursdays. We are in the back of the same building.

Re: Congratulations Benjamin!
Not sure where he was training. Any school that follows the Kukkiwon (Taekwondo headquarters in Korea) doesn't allow anyone under 16 to progress beyond a 3rd Dan. Doesn't mean they should stop training him, he just can't advance in rank until he gets older.
But not every school follows the Kukkiwon or the rules set in place. Many schools are in it for the money. If they can guarantee someone the ability to achieve their black belt in a year verse a school that says it may take you 4 to 5 years, they know they have a greater chance to get the new student to sign up at their school. These kinds of schools exists in every type of martial art, and prey upon people who have no clue what to look for in a school.
I knew I wanted to take Taekwondo and spent about a month looking at many schools around the area for a good strong school and one that was family oriented.
You never lose your rank. He should start back up.
