Sad day at my house Empty Sad day at my house

Post by junkyardjeff July 22nd 2012, 10:11 pm

Spent the morning and afternoon with my 17 year old cat as she slipped into the afterlife,it was very hard watching her go and almost went to the 24 hour vet to have her put down but she went on her own around 3.07 this afternoon. I keep saying no more animals when one goes but one seems to find my front door and I take it in,I did not think I was going to be able to dig a big enough hole to put her in as the ground was very hard and I hope its many years before I have to do this again.

So sorry for loss. You've had mittens for a long time. I know I just couldn't take old Bear to the vet for the last time, Pat and Madonna had to do it.

I made a appointment at my regular vet to have her put down so I will need to call them and cancel, this is the first animal I have been around since the birth to the death. I think the spirit of the last cat to die here is still roaming around,me and mittens were sitting on the couch and we both seen a dark gray blur going from behind the tv to to the computer area and Christena has felt a cat in bed with her many times when there was none so this place is going to be haunted with animals.

Sorry Jeff. 17 years is a long time for a cat. It must have had a pretty good and happy life.

She was purring up to the end and what was weird was she still responded to my touch after she stopped breathing for a couple minutes, with her gone it wont seem right around here for awhile.

You know, I never think I am a cat man until one of the buggers makes me love 'em.
I am sorry for your loss Jeff. She must have had a really good family to make it 17 years.

Had alot of animals in this house but this one is going to hurt for a long time, she would sit on my lap while I was on the computer and snuggle up to me while I slept so I did not want to see her go.

Its a little easier now and was able to get look at the pictures when she was little, when they get that old you start to think they will be around forever but the truth will smack you in the face.
