The old timers use coke... Yep the stuff you drink. Pull the plugs and pour it in. Let it set.

Re: Froze Motor
Trans fluid in the spark plug holes. Leave it for a day and then turn the engine by hand. Back and then forward with a socket on the harmonic balancer bolt or a big screw driver on the fly wheel. If it breaks loose turn it all the way around one time. Hit the starter and blow the trans fluid out before putting the plugs back in. If the engine run and you did it without cracking a ring, change the oil. The smoke will be fun when it first starts up too. It will go away in 10 or 15 minutes.

Re: Froze Motor
We use to play jokes on each other years ago. One I likes was a little trans fluid in the carb without them knowing. They would start the car and get 3 or 4 blocks before a cloud of smoke would cover anything that was in back of them.
It is good for burning the carbon off pistons in a hi milage motor too.

Re: Froze Motor
OK, I will try the trans fluid. Wish I was going to cruise this weekend. Needed to burn some rubber and have some fun. Haven't seen my daughter in over a year so its time to make the trek to Athens Ohio. Her Nova is in bad shape too. Hope this get's it running.

I bought a '67 Mustang coupe once that smoked so bad the guy was convinced the motor was shot. Put a new modulator valve on the transmission and made a nice profit on it.

I have seen that too. The valve goes bad and the engine sucking trans fluid through the hose.

Re: Froze Motor
Yes sir. Only issue now is the fact that it has a pop in the exhaust not a backfire a pop. When you rev the motor up in park it will pop once in a while. Smooth at idle. When you are driving it will pop too. Doesn't seem to be down on power. Ideas. Oil was changed and new plugs put in.

Re: Froze Motor
About a year. Don't think it might be plug wires or cap and rotor? It has an HEI Distributor.

What kind of exhaust? Running rich, little exhaust leak and some hot gas; she goes bang in the pipes?
Maybe?

That sounds more like the case. It has dual exhaust, stock exhaust manifolds, stock round 2 barrel that always seems to run a little on the rich side. What you propose sir sounds very plausible. I would love to put a performer intake and 600 vac sec on it.
