Re: Stewart's 1954 Chevy Shop Truck
You going to put one of those 6ft bumper antenna's on the truck so it looks like a life size radio control truck?
It turned out nice. I need to build the inside box for my glove box in the 55 too.

nah..Cratethis wrote:You going to put one of those 6ft bumper antenna's on the truck so it looks like a life size radio control truck?.
I will keep the antenna behind the seat, stuck to the floor. I can reach anyone within 1/8 mile from me that way. That will be good enough if we have a few in our cars on a long trip. If I need more I'll stick it on the cab and blast. that little CB doesn't look like much but I had some work done on it over 20 years ago. It's been peaked a tad. We use to find cute girls at phone booths and sit across the street and talk to them through the CB. It would bleed through their phone call and they could hear me better than who they was talking to.
Yea I know I'm old. Phone booths. There use to be one on every other corner seemed like.

Re: Stewart's 1954 Chevy Shop Truck
We got the tree from Peluso's. I think he is letting someone else sell them but it's his property. Jerry Peluso is the Mayor of Newport and he helps is mom run the store at times. It was really cool to get pics with his old green Chevy truck. As a kid his dad had this truck sitting in front of the store before I could even drive. For a few of us locals the old green truck is like a land mark in Newport. I would love to get my hands on it. It would be one I'd keep.

Re: Stewart's 1954 Chevy Shop Truck
We walked into the store and I opened the top on a 1950's Coke Cooler and let the kids grab a few ice cold 16 oz glass bottles of pop. Couple of the bottles had ice in them they where so cold. Turned around to the other old cooler that had a bottle opener on it and told the kids to pop the top. I know it doesn't sound like much but the memories came flooding back to me like I was a teenager again. Out cruising in an old car and stopping to get a pop, man I miss the old days.

You know you are on the hill at Spaghetti Knob in Newport, KY when the road is higher than the skyline of Cincinnati, OH. What is Spaghetti Knob? It got that name from the past due to that is where all the Italians lived. This is at a friends house. Frankie Peluso City Commissioner. He has the whole hillside done up with Christmas lights every year.
