2011 Blacktop Bash Pics

I didn't realize you had left John. When I came back around to the front, your car wasn't there anymore. My cousin and some of his friends showed up and I got to talking and you know how that goes.

Man, you must have been standing right behind me a few times because about half of your pics are almost I identical to the ones I posted on Facebook last nite (LOL). You should have posted the one of the crying baby burning, cowboy boots and all. Wished I would have seen ya, kinda wanted to meet ya after exchanging emails and I had a shirt I wanted to give ya. I saw Truxter Fordly, Puddin Head, DaInjun (w/o his hair)and the Blue Eyed Devil but that was it for the people who haunt this site. I wished you would have taken a few pics of the one Fad T out back with all the murals on it. A friend of mine from Indy owns it and there's a 4 page spread in the new Hot Rod about it. I was too busy gabbing with him to take any pics of it. It was done in 1978 and even has a mural with the Twin Towers in it. That rear engine thing with the marine y-block was cool but border line scary looking. There were more cars and people there than in years past. Even an old friend of mine from up in St, Marys showed up with an old dradster for the Chacklefest. Lots of sunshine, neat Hot Rods and pretty girls. The Sinsiter Hot Rod crew did themselves proud. Oh yeah, and the Fried Bologna was great!

If I knew everyone a little more better and was probably was standing right on top of you and didn't know it. My cousin let me borrow his camera and I shot away. I wish I took more, but ended up talking more than looking. He didn't get there until around 2 and of course I stood there talking to him for an hour or so.. Dag gone, I must've missed the burning cowboy boots. Where was this at? . I tried to get rides that you don't see much around here. I didn't leave until around 8 and didn't get home until almost 11. Some fella decided that the Brent Spence bridge was a good place to park in the center lane. What a mess! Needless to say, I was a tired camper by the time I got home.

Denny, it was great meetin' ya and thank you for the great pics. Also always a pleasure to see Doug, John, Truxter and the rest of the fellas. It was a great day and a great turnout. It's a lot of work for us, but seeing everyone enjoying themselves makes it all worth it.

And Denny, did I tell ya you would have a good time or what?

Yep, I had a really good time! I was kind of surprised to see a few cars leaving early, but as soon as they left, another ride was there to take it's parking place. Let the fellas know that they are appreciated for putting on the show. There were definitely a lot of hot rod enthusiasts from all over the country. I talked to one fella from Michigan and another one from Illinois.

I forgot my Shine! had to head home and do the family thing, but not a show I will miss if I can...always will show up, maybe only a few hours, but I was there!

They were all taken around 2:30 or 3:00 in the afternoon. It was a constant flow of cars in and out all day. You could walk the perimeter every 15 minutes and see different cars each time. I can't say how much I enjoy this show.....
