Laced or flaked roofs and dashes.
Johnny and I have talked a little about flaking some stuff. I wouldn't mind trying to do a lace job. I'm going to post a few pics for inspiration. If anyone else has anything let's see 'em.

Here is a Chevy that was in front of Jesse James shop when Chad and I was down there. Very cool roof job.

NO...don't post theses!
I am desperately wanting to either flake or lace the roof of the Stylemaster, leaning more towards flake. Yet, I have finally convinced myself, in the last couple of weeks, that I need to get the running gears more reliable first, therefore the paint and body work must wait. Unfortunately, I am also leaning towards keeping the old six in a row; therefore getting reliable running gears isn’t going to be cost effective.

You don't see this kind of painting any longer. It's traditional hot rodding at it's finest. Some are bringing it back but it's almost a lost art form. I help out on a car that had that huge boat flake in it. That was over 20 years ago. My arm hurts just thinking of all the sanding that it took to smooth out all that flake.

I was thinking about doing something like that to the 88. I like the 1st purple and the silver that's right after it. Especially with this being a more door and the longer roof, I think it would look really good.

Re: Laced or flaked roofs and dashes.
I wonder who the first person was to take their moms curtains and toss them on the roof before painting it?

Re: Laced or flaked roofs and dashes.
I like the lace, not so much the flake.
Most of the flake ive seen around here was poor quality work.
Country04 recently did some lace on some 37 plymouth headlights.I will see him tomorrow for pics.

I prefer the look of lace over flake.

Love it. Wish I could have gotten to the Olds this year. Well, maybe it will happen next year. Can't wait for that purple lace top on mine.
