Newport news

Here in Glasgow we have a channel that is called ket. It does stories and other things about people and places in Kentucky. So I was doing a search on the internet and found that John T. Thompson was borned and raised in Newprt, ky. He was invemtor for the tommy gun. Didn't know if anyone else knew this. Pretty cool piece of history.

Haha... when I read the title I thought it was going to be something about Newport News Virginia. I lived there for several years before moving here. Had to read the whole thing to realize you meant "news about Newport."

I had heard that, but I can't remember where. I think it was from that little book they have on the history and images of Newport. They have one on just about every town. Covington, Bellevue, Cincinnati.

Yeah. If you go in front of the Southgate House there is a big black historical sign about Thompson.
