In 2002 Marc Morganti of Gemini Customs, a new Member of the American Pistolsmiths Guild, submitted a historic project to the American Pistolsmiths Guild to build a presentation grade 1911 pistol for President George W. Bush.

The project was readily accepted and Marc was charged with building and coordinating the team of Master Craftsmen as well as procurement and configuration of all parts for this historic project.

The project was completed in approximately one year and it was built using the finest parts and materials, all 100% American made and manufactured by companies and members of the American Pistolsmiths Guild.

These Companies include Caspian Arms, Wilson Combat, Ed Brown Products, Bar Sto Precision, Cylinder & Slide, Heinie Specialties and SDM Fabricating.

The pistol was built, engraved and finished exclusively by a team of members from the American Pistolsmiths Guild, including Marc Morganti, Scott Mulkerin, Neil Keller, Alex Hamilton, Larry Vickers, Dave Lauck, Allen Tillman and Brian Powley.

The grips were made from estate Ivory by Mr. Roy Fishpaw, and the Elephant Hide leather rig was crafted by Mr. Matt DelFatti, both master craftsmen as well as Members of the American Pistolsmiths Guild.

The gun is full of hidden symbolism in the custom machinework, as well as the use of Elephant hide and Elephant Ivory, both symbolic of the Republican Party.

The gun was presented to President George W Bush in late 2009 in recognition of his support of the Second Amendment to the Constitution of the United States.

" A WELL REGULATED MILITIA, BEING NECESSARY TO THE SECURITY OF A FREE STATE, THE RIGHT OF THE PEOPLE TO KEEP AND BEAR ARMS, SHALL NOT BE INFRINGED".

Solid Silver, full relief, hand carved belt buckle by Mr. Weldon E. Lister Jr. Master Engraver and member of the American Pistolsmiths Guild.

An amazing depiction of President George W. Bush's favorite Western painting by artist W.H.D. Koerner, to compliment the GWB-USA-1 1911 pistol, and fine Elephant hide rig of Matt DelFatti.

President Bush smiled from ear to ear when he was awarded this amazing set of the finest Art from the hands of the American Gunmaker, Engraver, and Leather Craftsmansman.

When the pistol was handed to President Bush, he simply asked "can I shoot it?", Yes Mr. President, you can shoot it, answered Mr. Alex Hamilton. Recording Secretary for the American Pistolsmiths Guild.

God Bless America and all those who defend her.

That is one nice firearm guys! A lot of those type of guns are all fluff. Too pretty to shoot and not worth shooting. This is not one of those. Master craftmanship all the way through.
One of them being Gemini Customs. I have been talking to them about doing some work to one of my guns. They do some really trick stuff with some firearms that most people wouldn't want to trick or mod. Best of all they are right here in Kentucky. Good to see some local talent.
