Re: help jb1o pic a car
Man, the 58 looks nice, except for those Cad tail lights. You can see those Chevelles on any corner (Sorry Joe) but the 58 wagon is a little more rare. Besides I would lean toward the wagon anyway. Got a soft spot for about any model wagon. A couple of friends bought a 58 two door years ago to Race. It was a record holder and was about unbeatale in it's class. It sure brings back some memories.

Re: help jb1o pic a car
I like them both but the wagon is more me. Plus it's up and running. Toss a bed roll in the back and on the over night trips you could sleep in it. There are a few long hauls planned for next summer. The Chevelle is cool looking but I always liked strange and different stuff.

Re: help jb1o pic a car
well, I am the wagon master, I lean to the wagon, either will go up in value as time passes, the Malibu would be more popular and would sell quicker, as they are popular as belly buttons, and loved by all, the wagon will sell as well, maybe not as quick, but I like Steve buy stuff that speaks to me, I am not buying the cars I buy, to please you or anybody, I would hope you like what I do, but nobody needs to approve what car I like...Like women, we all like what we like, so follow you gut, buy the one that speaks to YOU...and don't look back....otherwise, I'd never play with Pinto's-Falcon's-Sedan Deliveries-Panel Trucks ect.....
Re: help jb1o pic a car
Get the Velle so ya can Big block 4-speed it and cruise ....leave the S10 to race......But if ya like the wagon go for it.....

Re: help jb1o pic a car
That Chevelle in the picture looks like a nice one. It will hold it's value more than the wagon for sure. I was never into the car stuff for the money. I like what I like. I have paid for it a few times to by not getting the cash back I had in it. The wagon would have to be a car he really wants to keep. Yopu could sell it but like Doug said it would take a while. The Chevelle you will alway get the money back out of it if you watch what you spend.

Re: help jb1o pic a car
Well, I’ve had second thoughts about the Wagon vs. the Chevelle problem. I now believe that the Chevelle is the better choice because I’d hate to see that neat wagon every time I run into JBS10. I’d be much easier to run with him in a car that I wouldn’t love to have. It’s wouldn’t be any fun cruising around in an old four door family car. It is similar to the Family Truckster in away. Also, it wouldn’t be any fun to contact the NHRA for the push bumper plans they offer because it’s just be boring to be a push car for a Chacklefest. A friend of mine does it about 2 times a year with his old wagon and I don’t think he has any fun doing it. (Yeah, for sure!) The parts for a ’58 wagon would be a lot harder to come by than for a Chevelle, so it’d be a lot easier and cheaper to fix the Chevelle when it breaks. All in all, the Chevelle would be by far the better choice.
I do however disagree with the Chevelle having a higher value. If the Chevelle is just a run of the mill Malibu or what ever they are, it will never equal the value of the wagon. If it is a true Super Sport, it may be worth the work, have a higher value. The Chevelle may be easier to peddle if that’s what you're after.

Re: help jb1o pic a car
Yea I don't think the 72 is real but guys clone them and try to pass them off as a real SS.Its easy to do after 68 because the vin #. Like on my 67 the first 3 letters tell that its an SS396 car. 138 its an SS and 136 its a malibu. But either way my choice is the Velle even though 70 is the last year I really like.

I have to respectfully disagree with that part of your post Glenn. It all comes down to who is doing the looking and where the looking is being done at.
