IMPORTANT! Ohio New Late Fee beginning October 1, 2009

Please be advised that effective October 1, 2009, Ohio has added a late fee to all vehicle registrations and driver’s license that are expired more than 7
days. This means on the 8th day past your expiration you will be charged an additional late fee of $20.00 per transaction this is in addition to
your regular transaction fees.

ex. sticker is $54.50 and your birthday is October 1, 2009 you come in on the 10th. you will pay the $54.50 plus $20.00 which equals $74.50.

ex. drivers license is $25.75 and your birthday was September 22, 2009 and you come in Oct. 1 to renew and you are already late you will pay

the $25.75 plus the $20.00 late fee which will be $45.75 to renew your license.

It has been in the paper and on the news. Please spread the word to your friends and family to avoid the late fees.

You are allowed to renew 90 days before your sticker and license expire! Take advantage.......

That stinks. As if everyone wasn't in money trouble as it is. I left 2 of my cars parked this month because I didn't have the cash to tag them all.
Ky has the same law but it's not as much and taxes have to be paid no matter what. If I owe taxes on one car and buy another I have to pay the back taxes on the first one or they won't transfer the second.

Wanna talk about stupid!!! I just got burned with this new law, and there was no fighting it. Birthday on Sept 30, went to renew on Oct. 9. Yup, they got an earful before I left though!

They will be getting me with it on the 66 since its been off the road since march,the late fee will be cheaper then keeping insurance on it while I am not driving it. I am going to look into putting it in someone elses name and back into mine before paying the late fee.
