Re: push button ignition
68 should be on the dash I think. unless you have a newer tilt wheel or something. Bad thing about a push button setup is if you have the kill swith in site someone can steal your truck if you walk into a burger joint or something.

A 2 position ignition key and tumbler would work. When turn in on position your could fire her up then turn key off to shut off just like a regular car.

Re: push button ignition
i want to be able to use the factory ignition with the key and be able to hide the button.... and to be honest, kinda unclear as to how exactly to hook it up from the ignition to the button.

Re: push button ignition
unhook the small wire from the right side of the solenoid that is on your firewall under your hood. Rehook a new wire where it use to be to the start button. You will have two prongs on the back of the start button, hook the new wire to one and run the other side of the button to the fuse box so it has power. Use a thick gauge wire so it doesn't get hot under a load. Don't worry about any of the other colored wires other than the purple one in the pics.customcabby wrote:i want to be able to use the factory ignition with the key and be able to hide the button.... and to be honest, kinda unclear as to how exactly to hook it up from the ignition to the button.

It's amazing how some people know all the wires to start a car right down to the color of the wire. Kinda makes one wonder how they got the experience.
