Does anyone know where I can find some info on what gear ratios are in a 00 silverado 1/2 ton automatic? I've went to yahoo. All I come up with is allison stuff.

jack the truck up, mark a place on the tire and driveshaft, count & divide to get your ratio

look in your glove box at all of the little 3letter codes on the label

you should find a

GU5 WHICH IS 3.23

GU6 WHICH IS 3.42

GU7 WHICH IS 3.73

I'll use those to determine what ratio the rear end is. Always been curious. Just trying to look for the rations of each gear in the transmission. Trying to figure out a way to get good gas mileage while towing. Very Happy
