Re: Road Devils, Rednecks and Rivers
I headed back north but it was hot. I stopped to grab a bite to eat at KFC in Carrolton, Ky. Good food but the rednecks wouldn't leave me alone about my truck. Nice rat rod! I have one just like it on and on and on. Had one guy telling me about the car show. BUT it was for street rods not rats. He went on to tell me he was a tech and could explain to me how to put a neutral safety switch on my old Dodge. This guy left and come back 3 times to tell me about whatever he felt like talking about at that time. Leaving the AC sooner than I cared to, to keep me from loosing it I jumped in my RAT ROD( LOL ) and headed for some cooler cruising back roads.

Re: Road Devils, Rednecks and Rivers
When I was 17 I spent some time in Carrolton at Eagle Creek Resort. Trust me it was not a resort. Just what they called it. Anyways there were no radio stations. You couldn't get anything. I had one tape. By the time I had my fill of that place I could sing word for word every Aerosmith song on that tape. You ate at home unless you ate at the only choke and puke in the town at the time. This place below. I don't recall if it was called Hometown Pizza but it was a mom and pop's pizza place. The parking lot was mostly gravel. The town has grown up now. There is just about anything you would want.

Re: Road Devils, Rednecks and Rivers
How did they figure this was a rat rod anyway. Good pics Steve. I drove up along the river last week to get out and run a little bit. Really tired of sitting around this Summer, that's for the Winter!
But I did do a little something Sunday and yesterday when it was 90 plus. I resprayed my Winter stock rims back to silver. Yeah of course, I sanded them down first. Sprayed them and clear coated them. The black/gray color just didn't do them justice.
I can't post pics being my computer is on safe mode. Still waiting for my Son to fix this thing...

Re: Road Devils, Rednecks and Rivers
Great pictures! I was so glad to see you pull into the pack with us Steve! It was a fun ride down for sure. We had 13 cars all running hard down the highway the whole way there. The weekend was awesome for our World Run. The weather cooperated and besides being hot as hell there was not much rain. We wound up with 28 pre-'65 club vehicles in attendance with members driving from Ohio, Michigan, Pennsylvania, Illinois, North Carolina, and Texas. One member from Sweden shipped his vintage European Ford Transit van over to the port in Baltimore and drove in. Now he is touring the country with his wife, living their dream. Other guys from California, Connecticut and Germany flew in and hopped rides with folks from other chapters. What a good time! I don't think the campgrounds will ever be the same! Haha...
