alright guys, i bought this 66 long fleet for 500 bucks and a case of beer. it needs a ton of work but im going to keep the 250 cid and three on the tree and just slam it to the ground. me and my buddy got it to turn over the other day but it need a set of points(got them ordered). rebuilding my drums front and rear hopefully next week. got to figure something out for a gas tank cause mines a rust bucket..lol... but here is some pics for you guys.. on a side note, im going to keep the patina....this is going to be my rat til i get my 61 caddy im hoping to buy.

Good looking project, and a heck of a deal. She's gona make a nice hot rod. Makes me feel old that you had to order a points set. When I was young, even Kmart had points hanging on the rack.....lol

Re: ol rusty
well, i went to see about the caddy and it was gone but the guy said he had a old truck for sale too. it is tucked back in the weeds. so i told him i would check it out and if all goes well i will be buying another c10, i think this one is a 65 (could be 66). but it is a short wheel base fleet with a 283 v8, auto trans and its the big window cab. the funny thing is that it is the cab on this one is in WAY better shape, and its a swb. think im gonna just use ol rusty as the parts truck and cut it up for the sheet metal patch's. this truck will not need much at all...soooooo fingers crossed i get it.

Re: ol rusty
thanks reb, i want this one cause its a better base to start with. also, i wanted a 283v8 big window swb....lol....so it just happen to be the truck i have been after. i really just settled with the 66 (ol rusty) to get into the hot rod hobby, but it will better server as a donor. i hate to cut up old steel but it will save another...
