At our Christmas party its was also my 16th birthday so my awesome, most wonderful, amazing, great father named Steve Stewart gave me the keys to a 1989 Chevy truck.

The first thing I done was removed the decal from the back window. If anyone seen it you'll understand why it had to go.

Tires will be next. They're all about ready to blow.
Right now it's a 2 wheel drive, eventually I will find a 4 wheel drive truck to take all the 4 wheel drive stuff out of to put in mine.

I've always liked white trucks so it'll be painted white.

I haven't gotten to drive it yet. I can't drive it because of the tires but dad says I can't drive it until I change my hair color. My bright red hair is almost gone so hopefully soon. It's killing me to wait.

I've got four new tires but I'm only changing one at time, when I can afford it. So far I've got one on the front.

I love those body style trucks. Had a 93 GMC southern comfort stepside myself a few years back. I've got dad's old 92 extended cab shortbed he bought brand new.

Great to see you are getting your feet wet!

I maybe parting out my dad's ole 93 4x4 K1500, tranny has no 2nd gear, but can be rebuilt although it's a
4L60E (electronic), your tranny is a 2WD 700R4. Maybe make you and your dad a decent deal on the whole thing. I hate to sell it just for parts, but the body is ate up with cancer, the roof is about the only non rusted panel on the truck.
If you decide to change it to 4x4, you will need a matching rearend as the 2WD are 5 lug, 4x4's are 6 and also a 4x4 tranny.

Got a new idler arm today. The old one was falling apart and I got another tire put on the rim today. 2 tires down, two more to go.

I see in the one pic the dog is helping change the tire- awesome! Do you hire him out for that?

He chooses when he wants to help. He's more nosey than anything. He'll hang out and he's great to talk to but when you ask him to bring you something or ask what he thinks he'll get up and walk away. He's a great road trip buddy though!

He likes to go for rides. When you are in a hurry and he can't go he gets between the door where you can't close it. When you get him out of the way he blows like he's upset then he goes off pouting like a 2 year old kid.

All my dogs in the past were great road trip buddies- except the one I have now. Man I miss that! And he hates having to "share" his parents. Pouts like the proverbial 2 year old... so a second dog is out for now. But someday I'll have another travelling partner.
