Re: Aussie Junkyards
Got any old medium duty, or heavy duty cabovers and such out there? That seems to be the hot ticket here in the states is to find an old cabover and redo it, or put it on a modern pickup chassis. Don't mean to run you ragged around trying to find such things, but a pic or two of something like that would be interesting. Thanks.

That would be wild as a car hauler over here in the states.

Re: Aussie Junkyards
That's what I was thinkin' too. Stick it on a one ton chassis, or even a 4300 IH, air ride the back, some aluminum 22.5's, make up a visor for it. What a hauler, I can just see it now..... sorry, got a little carried away. Might be a good idea to stretch it out and widen it a bit, looks pretty small, even for a little feller like me.

Re: Aussie Junkyards
Actually it's not too bad if you ship it via ship to New York Rebstew. I had my Son's front clip shipped from Japan in 2008 for 275 bucks. Hey, we want to go on long hauls this next Summer, there you go! We can make a far right turn and travel half way across the globe.

Re: Aussie Junkyards
I don't know about auto parts, but a friend ships household items and personal goods to his other place in the Dominican Republic. And I'm no expert about that type of shipping either, but his biggest expense isn't the freight bill, it comes in from the agent or agency handling the customs getting it through port. Of course this is export, not import.... as I said before I'm no expert with it, but it seems to matter what it is and which way it's going. Might have a lot to do with what country, and which direction it's going.
Shipping it to new york port is definitely the best way, and gets you the best deal (so he says).
