Kansas used old cars to fortify the river banks from erosion back in the day.

They did it in Ohio too,take Blue rock road north off of 275 to the river and you will see some 50s and early 60s cars if they are still there.

What a waste of good steel. Growing up I saw the same thing down on the creak banks in casey and pulaski counties . County came through a few years back and cleaned them all out. Always thought it was sad to see an old car just tossed away.
