Fall Colors Cruise Pictures.
What a nice run. Most relaxing run we have ever had. Post pics if you have them. I'll post mine when I get time. Thanks everyone that showed. If you missed it you, you should have made it.

Awesome. See that you went down to the old tourist camp. Did you get to meet any of the original owners? If I had an older car I would have gone on this run. Route 25 is definitely one of my favorite roads. Took that all the way to where it splits up, hit 25E, to US 129, then US 441 all the way to Orlando back in 1996. Only a small bit of interstate at the beginning (to Richmond KY only...rest all old highways).
Looking forward to the photos!!

We didn't talk to anyone there Dennis. It was cool though. What is this with having an older car? I was driving a 79 Firebird. We had some late model cars running down there too. You are always welcome, you know that. Besides if you didn't want to drive down you could have jumped in someones car.

Re: Fall Colors Cruise Pictures.
Well since I sold the Monte Carlo all I have is the Blazer. You know it is much more fun to cruise in something old or at least a ride that looks tough (like the Monte....much more bark than bite). And a 79 Firebird is cool as all hell.....as far as my past cars go...I would take my 79 T/A over any of them. Even more than the 69 Firebird I had which was much faster, but not nearly as fun.

Re: Fall Colors Cruise Pictures.
It was a cool trip. Thanks to everyone that made it. A special thank you to Ron's mom and dad that came. I thought that was really cool.
I'm not sure why I liked this run better than others. It was very peaceful and the scenic views may have been what it was. The numbers were down on cars like they have been all year. I know this is late in the year but if you didn't make this run you should try your hardest to do it next year. We will be doing it annually from now on.
Now for some pics

Re: Fall Colors Cruise Pictures.
When I woke up I was running all over the place all morning trying to get the cars ready to go. Seat belts installed, topping off fluids, working on seat brackets and all kinds of stuff. The kids thought I was nuts and Amy kept asking me if she could do anything to help. When I get in that zone I'm a work horse and go at it. I think I drove her nuts getting everything ready.
I jumped in the Pontiac and she drove the truck. We were late so I was rushing. On the way out my mind slowed down and I remembered what was so special in my life. I don't care if I'm late or not. I pulled over on the highway just to give my baby a kiss. I didn't know Aryan had taken this picture until I downloaded them.

Re: Fall Colors Cruise Pictures.
We made it to the rest area. On the way in some nut back out in front of me and I almost slammed into him. But everything came out okay. We had a few cars on both sides of the road.
We had a cowboy and his wife stop to look at the truck. He said he had a 54. Nice people from Colorado. It's always nice to see other people stop and just strike up a conversation about the hobby we all love.

Re: Fall Colors Cruise Pictures.
As a kid it was normal to get stopped at a train crossing. The tracks have been gone from Newport for Years and years. I know it sounds goofy but getting stuck at that crossing on this run brought back memories of my dad and I having to sit and talk while the train in Newport rolled by. It's funny how thing sparks memories that you had forgotten about.
I made sure to talk to my baby boy about the train before I jumped out to take pictures.
