My 1985 Bronco Empty My 1985 Bronco

Post by Thepossumface October 6th 2012, 4:07 am

So here she is ive had her for a while about 4-5 months for 800 got a new motor in it and let it sit due to work and so on,
anyway's ive decided to make it a street/drag truck. I grew up around this truck so has sentimental value to me..
But first off gonna take the whole drive train out (motor,trans.t-case) and put a 2wd pick up suspension on it then maybe go big block?
havent gotten that far yet haha. But anyways its a decent truck for its year small rust good paint job.
So feel free to shoot me any advice as I do it. Its not my DD so when $$ and time is good it will be done. gonna take my time and make it nice.

2wd truck parts will bolt in and when you install a 2wd trans get a 2wd crossmember as it will sit the trans a couple inches lower or make a spacer like I did, when you get 2wd front suspension stuff get 87 to 96 parts since its more adjustable then the 80 to 86 parts. I have found to get it lower in the rear will require a C notch in the frame which I will do to mine in stage 2 of the lowering process.

I like Mothers. It matters how bad they are. If they are shot which they don't appear to be but the pics may make them look better you can sand them and buff them. If they are really bad take an SOS pad and clean the up. Get the gunk off. Start our with 600 grit wet or dry sand paper and go to town. Move up to 800 then 1000 1500 1800 and then 2000. After that puff them out with a buffer and Mother Polish.
BUT!!! They don't look that rough so I'd just try some polish and elbow grease.

All you do is unbolt the 4x4 stuff and 2wd parts will bolt on,same steering box and tie rod ends too.
