Re: need a little help
Stop over and get me when you are ready. If you come down around noon tomorrow we can get my wheel skates from under the 27 and use them on your T/A. It will make it easy to get it against the wall.

Re: need a little help
No it was a good deal and yea he needs a fender but if you can use it, it's no big deal. I'd grab that hood too. Never know you may use it. If you don't want it I'll put it in stock.

Re: need a little help
The guy built some wood table thing with casters on it. The body is sitting in it. Should be fun getting it on a trailer.

Is this the "race car" project from northern KY that was on craigslist?

I saw that the other night and posted it on the craigslist finds thread here because I knew you and Stewart were into that year of Firebird but you guys were probably already onto it by then. Looked like a great deal! The price certainly was right. Glad you got it! Did it have a title? Lot's of "race car" projects don't......

Re: need a little help
Jerry I tried to get a hold of him and never got any reply. Aaron knows him. The guy hangs out with the F body club. He said last night that he got so many goofy phone calls that he went back and pulled the Craiglist add. The car has a few parts that Aaron can use. It was worth what he gave for it. I just want to see it moved in the garage with no wheels
Thanks for posting it here. If you wouldn't have, he wouldn't have it.

The reason I asked about the title is that here in Ohio in order to scrap a whole car you need it. Wasn't always that way but it is now. No title means you have to cut the car up into smaller chunks and the scrapyard pays you less per ton for it..... even if you don't plan on scrapping the carcass a good title (for a popular make and model of car) can always come in handy.

Re: need a little help
Yep, a good title and a matching body tag can be worth it's weight in gold in Ohio. I took a car to the crusher a couple of years ago that was missing the engine and transmission. I had to sign for it but I got my dough.

Re: need a little help
Pretty much the same here but a gutted body will bring more at a scrap metal yard because they adont deduct for all that plastic and cloth.Truxter Fordly wrote: the scrapyard pays you less per ton for it..... even if you don't plan on scrapping the carcass a good title (for a popular make and model of car) can always come in handy.

Re: need a little help
all junk yards now are taking whole cars with motor and tranie running and at newport yard gives you more money . They just started doing this..
Re: need a little help
I guess they have someone to dispose of the gas tanks and stuff in the yard now. I didn't think they would do that.

Re: need a little help
At Pull a Part your going to be lucky to get a good gas tank. When it comes in they check to see if there is gas in the tank. If there is they pick it up with a fork lift, hold it over a big catch pan and knock o hole in the tank. That's what they run the yard equipment on. Nasty smelling stuff but I guess it burns.
