I leave my flag up all year long, hell sometimes even thru the storms.........
Seems like every neighbour on the block only puts theirs up on a holiday.
Any thoughts on why?

If you display the flag after dark it's supposed to have a light on it. Not always followed but that is the way it is. Hopefully you leave the porch light on.

Mine stay up all the time. I don't have a light directly on it but there is light to see it. There are ways it's suppose to be flown but unless it's a bad rain storm or it gets ripped it stays flying. I wish more people cared enough to put one up. sunny

when a patriotic effect is desired, the flag may be displayed twenty-four hours a day if properly illuminated during the hours of darkness."
The flag should not be displayed on days when the weather is inclement, except when an all-weather flag is displayed.

What distinguishes an all-weather flag?

A flag that is not cloth. Cloth will weather, rot and or rip. Mine is an all weather flag cheers

Mine stays up all the time, except when the wind gets really strong. It's nylon and rated "All Weather". I found out a long time ago that even an all weather flag can be shredded in a bad enough storm. The bigger they are the more chance of it. My 6x8 pops pretty hard in a 30 mile per hour wind.
You can't figure some people though. When I was selling my last house, one couple wanted to know how hard it would be to take out the flag pole. My partner moved into a new house and didn't read the restrictions close enough. He had to get a court ruling against the homeowners assoc. to allow him to put his in. Evil or Very Mad

It makes you wonder what happened to American pride in the last 20 years doesn't it. Being stuck in the bad part of the city you would think you wouldn't see ol' glory flying too much here. I live on a very small street and the lady next door, the family across the street and myself have flags flying daily. That makes me feel pretty good. Riggs even had his flying before he moved off the block & into yuppyville. Very Happy

I always fly Ol' Glory. My 10 year old son's bedroom is all stars and stripes. I also fly military branch flags, as I have many family members in various branches of the service!

I fly my flag daily with a spot light in the overnight hours as well as run Veterans Plates on my car. Most Military personnel associate the flag with there families and it's a kindly reminder what they are fighting for in other countries.

Even with that the court said he couldn't fly any other flag. Not even the state flag. Glad I live in the country where they mostly leave is alone.

What's wrong with this country is us, we let it happen there's a small amount of people that say oh we don't like that and the rest of us say nothing they go to court and then they say get it down or go to jail we need to get together an say ok if we can't have what we what and do on our own land then all of us go to jail the states can feed us an keep a roof over our heads an pay for the trips to the doctor see how long they would keep us in jail.I could keep going but surely you all know what I'm talking about ! Stuff is getting crazy. I know there is a thread about American made on here some where but i'll post this here.
Over the weekend I took the kids out to buy shoes. After about 4 stores I am sitting in one of the seats and look up at this box. It has an American flag on it. I grab it just to look and the top of the box is an American flag. I open it up and it's a pair of white gym shoes. The bottom string has a badge type emblem with the red, white and blue. The sides of the shoe has a big American flag on them. I thought to myself that they looked pretty good. I opened them up and in big letters "Made in China" pale
