Augusta Show & Judy Drive In with the Star Devils

HEY LET'S SEE THOSE JUGS! Sorry inside joke. I thought Chris was going to loose it.

The Star Devils were cool. They played 2 more songs in the dark before the movie started. I taped a little of this one even though you couldn't see anything. It was dark. I wondered if he was going to dance off the stage at one point. The last song I put the camera down and we had 3 flash lights strobing on them so everyone could at least see them a little while they played.

Before the movie started the fireworks did. They were nice. We left Newport and missed the fire works but had them at the drive in. Too COOL!
I've seen this movie before but this was the first time on the big screen. It was a perfect movie for this crowd. Thunder Road.

We hung out out watched the movie and just had fun. I walked up and talked to Bailey and the lead singer for the Star Devils for a bit and then finished up the movie. It was a bit nippy by the end of the movie but it was worth it. Amy went up and grabbed us a few Star Devils decals. I think there is still an extra one if anyone wants it. We said our good byes and headed north.

We let Jeff road captian on the way back. He did real good. He had me in a part of the country I have never been. Even at night the sites were cool. We went past miles and miles of old rock walls and plantations. A few back roads and we ended up on Pike 27 about 50 south of home. It was a nice ride.

I had trouble on the way back but the truck made it. About a month ago I seen a pin hole in the radiator. I use some Bar's Stop Leak and it covered it quick. I think that's what saved the truck. We hit Cynthiana, Ky and the radiator popped. I could spell it but after getting back up to cruising speed the smell went away. I figured the Bars had filled the hole. I peppered the trucks windshield and Amy's little car with antifreeze when it did it. I thought I was safe and then when we hit Falmouth, Ky The heater core blew. I told Corey I hope that's not us. He looked up and ask what the smell was and before he could get it all the way out the windows fogged over with anifreeze fog.

It was pouring into the floor board of the truck. LOL I just kept going. I figured if it got over 240 degrees I would stop. I figured we had enough cans of Dr Pepper and melted ice to fill the radiator back up. If not I'm sure we could have figured something out with as much pop as we all drank. By the time we hit Cold Springs it was either out of water of the Bar's had clogged up the heater core. I wiped the windshield so I could see and kept on going. I've said it before and I'll say it again. We build 'em, beat 'em, break 'em and fix them where they die!

why didn't you stop us to get you fixed up?

I would have flashed my lights and pulled over if the temp would have kept on going up. It stayed under what I thought it would take and it did okay. I even ran all the way down to the last exit with you just trying to push it. Breaking one doesn't bug me. Just another day in hot rod ville... Only loss was the fancy little cooler that was in the floor. Sami pitch it cause she thought it had a hole in it. It was where the heater core poured in on it. lol

As long as everybody made it home ok that all that counts.

Yeap. I had a blast. I was tired on the way back but I was still having fun watching the line of cars. Johnny's LED's work really good through foggy windows. lol

I probably lasted all of 10 minutes before i was out cold. Had real heavy eyes from about falmouth to home. It was worth it though good time.

So it was an alternator that fell victim to Rt 8 this time, not a battery.

I think it would be cool to do a car show with these groups!
