I think it was stored with the third member pointing up. All the gear oil settled to the housing and time took it's toll. I tried clening it up but just a little too scary to use. Someone told me tranny fluid would eat rust. Not sure if that's true. I thought about shoving it down in some trans fluid for a month and see what it looks like.

I've heard some good things about "Evapo-Rust." A.Z. supposed to stock the stuff.

Mollassase or how ever its spelled works great and its cheap on eating rust... I loved to find a more highway friendly gear for my truck... Or a nice 4 or 5 speed that will bolt up to a Y block with a truck Bellhousing.....

No Looks like that gouge I got from the burnout box at Tri State nicked the rear tube. It keeps slowly going flat. If anyone has an extra racing tube that will fit a 29X10.5 tire let me know. The big tubes they are selling at Advance and Autozone has that big valve that won't fit through the valve stem hole unless you drill it like Randy did. I don't want to drill it..

Aryan is driving me nuts over the 40 for 40 track day. He's wants to race the 'Stang. I need to get a tube for the slick. Last track day we picked something up out of the burnout box and cut a grove around the slick and nipped the tube. When I get the car down here I'll get the tire broken down and make sure nothing is in the slick.

I'd like to find some 29" tall cheater tires for the back. That way I can drive it around town a bit.

I just ordered Aryan a set of 350 gears and a set of 275/60 R15 street tires for the Mustang. He's driving me nuts wanting to get it out.

If all goes well. Never know with that car. Every run has had issues. I think I have it lined out so we will see. With the more street friendly gears that I bought I may go ahead and get the nitrous bottle filled.
I think the 514's are holding the car back too. Even though I'm running through the traps before redlighting, it feels like I'm driving a dump truck. A set of 411's would have been nice but I bought a set of 350.1 gears. It's going to get a few miles on it this summer so I wanted something I could drive on the highway.

Anyone talk to Terry as of late? I need to track him down to see when he could swap the gears in the Stang, if he has the time to do it.

The Mustang has left the Stewart household. Aryan wanted something else. He's like me, when he makes his mind up it's a done deal. He wanted a Firebird so he swapped a guy in Rising Sun IN.

I didn't think it was a good trade but he got what he wanted. I kept wondering about it for the last few day. I thought it was a mistake to trade but tonight looking around the Firebird I'm glad that Ford is gone. The Bird is a stocker but he's already trying to get me to put a 454 Chevy in it. That won't happen right away but Aryan has built this car already in his mind for the last year. He knows what he wants.
