New pants that are old? Empty New pants that are old?

Post by RebStew July 27th 2009, 7:14 pm

I have a pet peave about worn out clothes that they are seling in stores. I was looking for Ayran a pair of Levi shorts the other day and all I could find was stuff that looked like it was handed down from 4 sets of brothers with worn out knees and even some had rips in them to make them look old. What is the deal? why are so many store selling this crap. When I was a kid these were pants that you worked and played in. Not a fashion statement. I must be getting old and unhip but I just can't see spending 20 or 30 bucks on a pair of shorts that looks like something that I would toss in the garbage after my kids had worn them for 3 years to play in. Is it cool to be a bum these days?

Kinda like putting a fake "patina" paintjob on a car. No matter how hard ya work at it or how much money ya spend, it still ain't the real thing!
