The art of just the buildings are something to behold. It's a shame how stale everything has become.

Everything is being driven to the lowest possible price that will do the job. I would hate to be an architect these days. Only so many ways to design a box.

I can see by their dispensers they carry Standard Oil Company Red & Gold Crown Gas. The Crowns or globes on top of the dispensers were made from milk glass.
The Red dispensed the "regular" grade of gasoline, While the White or Later Gold dispensed the Premium Grade. Research indicates that the Red & Gold Crown products were produced between 1932-1962.
I remember reading some time ago there was a gas shortage in 1961 or '62
so I think this picture dates to about that time.
