Stew should have known it was a lost cause to begin with.

Guess I'll wait on Modoc. Saturday it's looking like it may rain. I will be hitting this soon if anyone wants to go. Hit it before the snakes come out to play.

Man, I was planning on this to be my excuse to get out of going up north to my in-laws Saturday. Now I'll probably have to go to keep peace at home. I don't think the Pinewood Derby @ Daddy Katz will work but I guess I'll have to give iot a shot.

I would have went but no one else seemed like they were for sure about going. I have to figure out what I'm doing a day or two in advance to get everything in I need to be doing.

I want to go but money is tight due to house payment so it would be best another saturday,I am planning on hitting some local yards to get some parts for the bronco if no one is going to Modoc. If its going to rain I would rather stay local.

The parts I needed for the bronco I can get new so they have been ordered,I did not feel like dodging rain drops so I did not go to any yards today. I did go look at a 50 rambler convertible a old next door neighbor used to own and sold in 75.

Got the first one home. This is the one with the roof pushed in. I stood inside and pushed up with my back, two loud pops and I just need to do a little hammer and dolly work around the edges.
Going after another tomorrow, possibly both.

Really looks nice Bill, altough the front tire looks a little low.
I drove the neighbors 40 sedan to the prom when I was a junior. It was that dark green with the flat motor, twin carbs and Astro mags. Pretty cool!

NIce score on that! Is that a 39 or early 40? Looked like it in the pic. with the fire wall.
Did you get any front end sheet metal?
When i got mine they had used a set of brass nuckles on the roof from the inside.
It took a while for me to get that. Killed the passenger side jof the dash to.

I got the last one home. Turns out the second one was the worst. This one has solid rear wheel wells, a good dash and the frame looks somewhat savable.

So are you looking to end up with one coupe and one sedan?

Re: Modoc, IN Junkyard "Harvest" November 2nd or 3rd.
Yeah, but I only have one good frame at the moment. I want to use a crossmember from one of the rusty frames to repair the Mustang II butchering that was done to the frame I started with.
I've already started harvesting parts I need for the coupe.

Before you start throwing away any of the parts I would like to look over what you have left as I could probably build one from whats left even though I dont need another money pit.

Yes I do need to get the others done first and if I can start collecting 40 parts now I will have something to do when I retire and it could take as long as it needs to get done and will have alot more time to work on it. I should be driving the bronco in a couple weeks and the 66 should not take too long to assemble so I will have nothing work on other then maintenance this summer.

Hey Jeff, While you're collecting parts, Doug Ice says you might have an idea where some 55-56 Mercs are. I'm in mighty bad need of a front valence.

I do know where some are and will look,I need to go there and get a extra dash for my 55 so I can modify it for a modern radio.

If you could come up with one it would make a good excuse for a road trip.
