I like those. I wonder if they are custom or out of some car?

They don't look bad. Those skirts have some wild contours to them.

Is this what you're thinking for the back glass?

Re: 1954 Chevy Dead Sled
God no. I have seen that car and always wondered why they used that glass. It's a slick car other than the back glass. It doesn't flow. What I was talking about was doing it like the one the club chopped years ago.

Re: 1954 Chevy Dead Sled
It's hard for me to explain myself. I never liked it when someone said this is the right way you chop a top. There are many ways to chop a top. There is no wrong way or right way. The issue is that some tops have to be chopped certain ways. One way on one car may not work right on another car.
Don't get confused with there is no wrong way to chop a car either. There is no wrong way style wise but there is a wrong way with lack of knowledge or poor skills.

Re: 1954 Chevy Dead Sled
If the 54 roof is used it can be a great looking chop. Problem with this one they butchered the top. It can be doctored up. There is no fixing it the right way without replacing the roof. Cheaper and less liked by me is to lay the glass down. Doing this I can cut off the part of the roof on the 54 that is screwed up bad and it will still look good after it's done.

Re: 1954 Chevy Dead Sled
I'm going to cut the back roof loose and take 2" more out of the rear depending on what side you are on to drop it more in the back and get rid of their 5 1/2 chop on one side and 4 3/4 on the other side. Cut the whole back glass channel out and some of the back roof. That will take care of their screw up.
This is the Chevy the club chopped at my garage a few years back. It will flow out like this one.
Take the whole section of rear window out
How many guys does it take to saw one cut? plenty if the thing keeps hanging up. lol
Drop the glass back in laying it almost flat flowing with the lined that follow the roof

Wonder where the old 4 door went. Ton of work was put in on this one and I never got to drive it.

Re: 1954 Chevy Dead Sled
Hey Steve, I've got a '55 or '56 Packard rear bumper if you want it. You might like it for the '54.
