If I found one already cut up or in pieces, I'd wouldn't hesitate to swap in a late model 4 banger and a over drive. Can you imagine the gas mileage?
A stock one that nice needs to be preserved. In my opinion anyway. Not like there's lots of them jewels left in that good of condition. Thats a piece of Cincinnati history right there.

Ditto.....my daddy work at the factory in 51-52....maybe he put the wheels on....fun fact...the bodies were stamped out in Cincinnati, assembled in Marion Indiana, then shipped back...to avoid a big TAX, Cincinnati wanted to charge Powell....not much changed in 61 years......

Just been tinkering....drove it up and down the road...45 mph is top speed...has a gear in the back....would like to sell it....but still here for now.....also thought of a upgrade t a 71, pinto 2.0 4 speed....kind of a common switch...could do it without any major mods......
