It's going to get some radical body mods but no chop.

Frame is cut away from the Ford.

These are all just rough cuts. it will be trimmed many times to get it right where I want it.

Moved the Z frame over in front of the Ford. Still a ton of measuring and marking stuff but I'm in no hurry.
 1968 Ford Truck, Cledus - Page 6 06610
I need to finish stripping the Z so I can get the good stuff off it I want to keep and move it off the driveway and out of my way.

Not breaking any speed records on this one but at least I got the Z stripped down and pushed back in the wood for it to rest and rust for a while. At least it's out of the driveway.

Something I've always wanted- a shop dog. Of course your shop is open air most of the year, here in the rust belt we get 8 months of winter and 4 months of tough sleddin. Now that the home shop isn't used for customer work, there is no or very little anti freeze around, to the point it can be managed so that I can have a shop dog now- if I could only convince my present dog he's the one. The only time he will come in is when both overhead doors are open. My shop is a drive through, so if he can see one end to the other, he will come in. If not, forget it. He 's too shy.

Ain't it great havin a place back in the brush where you can tuck stuff and hide it away where it is out of sight out of mind.

This is why its nice to have a place out in the country, you can hide vehicles in the weeds/trees. Very Happy

You both are right. It is nice. It will be junked sooner or later but it is nice I don't have to rush to get it there.

The up/downside is no human vultures to haul off what you don't want. I'll keep mine in the country though.

I have the bug to work on it but have been helping mom out doing stuff at her place. Hoping to get some wrench time in at the end of the week.

I have been measuring, cutting and so on with the front clip. A little at a time. It is really close right now. I have rolled the front clip out so many times I may have took some tread on the tires. confused

If I get some time tomorrow I should be able to cross measure it from the back to see how close I am. If it looks good I'll give it the first few spot welds. Measure again and if it looks good then it's time for some welding and plating.

Even with the 28" tall tire flat it still has a rake. It's lower in the front for sure. Hard to say how it will sit with the doghouse on and the rearend flipped over the back springs. We will see.

The frame is welded together. I still have to run some outer plates, braces and cap the inside of the frame but I'll have to pull the engine out to get to all that. At least I can roll it around and get the steering and brakes started on.
