72 datsun 1200

Are you still able to get parts for those motors,I would like to find a old rwd Datsun or Toyota to be different but was worried about being able to find parts.

v8 would weight the front down to much and it would require alot of fabrication and suspension mods. the rear end would also have to be changed, if you wanted power just swap in the ca18det it weighs almost as much as the a14 and has nice hp/torque ratings. with the right trans and drive shaft it can be made almost a bolt in deal.

well if you want easy to find parts for go toyota their a dime a dozen or atleast around here, thats all the old jap cars i ever see around here. but i personally hate toyota, their parts are stupid expensive and their starters are shitty in all the models. you can still get stuff at parts stores for them at the parts stores may have to order stuff, but the odd ball datsun stuff is getting harder to find. but id rather have the datsun than a toyota anyday.

redid my glovebox cover and put in a temp guage, car has a factory one but i wanted to know the number not a vague idea.

my buddy scrapped out a corolla he had so I grabbed the front fenders off of it to cut up and put on the rear of the 1200. reason for this is they have a nice arched lip in them that the 1200 doesn't, and I hoping it gives it a more aggressive look.

now ive got to get the 1200 back up here to cut it and weld these in, another benefit will be I get to cut all the rust out of the wheel arches.

those are crazy! id be scared to drive one on the street with a v8, mine is quick with the a14 which makes about 60hp. and ill be doing a turbo on it once I figure all the routing out and make the piping.
