Another Rust Removal Idea
found this on another site thought id share. a few of us have seen and tried the battery charger and tub rust removal trick. i copied and paste from another forum.

Materials needed :
gallon of molasses
water
rusty parts
and a tub big enough to hold water and the parts.
1 part molasses to 10 parts water is the general idea. This guy changed it to 1 part molasses to 4 parts water.
When you put rust in molasses it creates a chemical reaction that forms phosphoric acid. The acid forms around the rust, so it's right where it's needed and it does the job rather well. The plus to using a molasses mix instead of a vat of straight phosphoric acid is that it is much cheaper to use molasses, and you don't have any issues with disposal. The molasses mix is safe to pour on your lawn or send down the drain. Very safe and easy to use.
where to buy molasses:
I used feed grade liquid molasses. Depending on your area, you might be able to pick it up at tractor supply or you might have to go to your local farm feed store.
It was about $8.00 for a gallon of molasses that when mixed with water will net you between 5 and 11 gallons of molasses mix depending on the ratio you use. Compare that to $27.00 for a gallon of phosphoric acid cleaner.
