Truck Huntin' Empty Truck Huntin'

Post by Arieldouglas February 26th 2012, 3:31 pm

Haven't said anything before. Three weeks ago my daughter was on her way home from school and got hit by another kid that had been run off from a wreck where WEMA was having to cut the people out. At first his insurance company just wanted to say they were equally at fault because the road was narrow. After I sent them a powerpoint presentation (my first one) they called the next day and said they had changed their mind and would accept resposibility. cheers

Finally got payed and went looking for a replacement. Want another truck. She walked away with only a couple of bruises. If she had been in a little car, she would have been seriously injured. Evil or Very Mad

Momma and I went looking for another truck yesterday and the main thing she found was what a deal we had gotten on the first truck we bought. lol!

First off: Glad your daughter is OK. Yes, driving a full size truck does have it's advantages.

Secondly: Nice presentation! You made your point well and very professionally. Nothing beats a few clear and concise pictures with accurate descriptions. I think the insurance company took one look and decided to get out the checkbook and cut their loses immediately. Good for you!

Good luck in your search. I have a similar 2003 F150 as my daily driver and it's a great truck. I hope you find her another one....

I can't really dis on the kid too much. Nobody got seriously hurt and he wasn't doing anything that every 17 year old boy behind the wheel hasn't done. I just hope he learns there is a place and time for it. Before he does hurt someone. The real pisser for my daughter is having to bum rides for three weeks when he showed up at school the next day in his mom's Suburban. Not many lessons in that. Evil or Very Mad

Nice little write up. As you can see dealing with these companies in a level higher than they are use to will get you some where. I think so many people just settle for what the insurance companies say, most get screwed. I have no love for any of the insurance people. Paying over the top bills when I have a flawless driving record really ticks me off. I have never been worried about my driving. It's the other goofballs that are on the road that scares me.

Glad she's okay. That's scary stuff.

Good thing no one was injured seriously. It's a hassle but trucks can be replaced. Looks lke maybe you should check into an Insurance career.

Truck Huntin' Emsnewride
Well we've been looking for a week. At least I have. Em's been looking for three weeks. Wink This is what we settled on.

2002 F-150 Step-side XLT
4.2 V-6 Auto 117K
Got a couple of scrapes but no metal (or plastic) damage
$7,500.00
The totaled truck pays for that and maybe some Nerf bars. She liked them on the old truck.

That's a good looking truck and seems like the price is right. I guess that old saying is true (eggs are cheaper in the country)

That's not where we started. No I made it almost to my truck 3 times before the negotiations got to a point I liked. I grew up watching my Dad deal with horse traders and used car dealers. Twisted Evil

Car dealer's can be a pain to deal with! I've found that if you take a little one in and let them put finger prints and drool all over the cars. They want to make a deal to get you out fo there! lol! ( It worked for me the last time i bought a car )

Happy for your girl! She dont have to bum rides anymore!
