Actually got out yesterday and worked on the old girl. Didn't get much done. But turned a few wrenches. Felt real good.

A little is better than none. Glad you was able to get out there. It eases my mind about other things when I'm wrenching. God knows it's easier than seeing a head doctor and my cars won't put me in a rubber room with a straight jacket on. geek

6-71Kid wrote:Well I finally got some new battery cables made. I did change the ground a little bit from stock. It only had a cable going from the positive side to the motor and I add an extra one from the positive to the body. But know that I have good cable I was able to hit the start button and the motor turned over. I still have some electrical problems but I don't think its anything major. The headlights didn't come on but the taillights did. I also found out that the horns definitly work, and they are LOUD.

So now my next plan now that the motor is turning is to get a coil and see if I can get some spark going and see if I can get the beast fired up. I was so glad to here that motor turning over.

Does anybody on here know a good place to get a 6 volt coil?

If you ever need anything for this build that you can't find locally, Andy Bernbaum probably has what you're looking for N.O.S. I've gotten many original parts from him for my '49 Dodge, at good prices, with fast shipping. I usually find what I want from his online catalog, and then call him direct to order the parts. www.oldmoparts.com
I hope this helps.
