Old Newport KY car club . Clutch Jumpers

Cliff I looked around but couldn't find the pics of the club jacket on Facebook. If you get time shoot me a link if you have one with it.

If you go to the thread of the Clutch Jumper info I am wearing the jacket in two pic's/ Sitting at the table at the Shopping center and standing next to the coupe at LeSourdsville Lake. Powder blue with the logo on the back, made in California...

Cliff, did you know Kenny Marquise, And a fellow with the last name of CROWE, first name escapes me..

In regards to the Hydroplanes I was part of the crew for the Moonshine Baby's E-54 & H-54. H-54 had a 427 Ford Engine. They were owned by Dal Kremer who owned Bellevue Motors in Bellevue who also did some fantastic paint jobs and where I learned pin striping. If it was fast I got involved......

This has to do with the above post but I thought I'd post the rest of the story here. The guy that got his house broke into was in the Clutch Jumpers in the 50's. Last night he was trying to give me money for catching the guy. I told him no. He got upset. He told me I was pissing him off because I wouldn't take any money for helping him. I told him i wasn't raised that way and I was just doing what was right. I morally couldn't take any money from him. It made him upset and even followed me out to the street trying to give me money.

A little while ago he comes up and knocks on the door. He said he got to thinking about it and knew something that I may take from him as a form of appreciation for catching the guy.

Tell me I'm not a happy camper right now?

I still didn't want to take it. I kept asking if he was sure. I even ask didn't he think his kids would want it. The face he made said it all. I guess his kids are not into that stuff.

He made my day. I'm nuts over stuff like that. It will be a great piece to put with my collection.

Yes we did, and we also gave out grocery baskets and toys for Thanksgiving and Christmas. Our club house was in Hunt Alley by Patterson South of 11th.  Cliff Wartman

Wow, there are some stringent rules above. I do like Article 7's meetings notes, Section 4:C. Nowadays you may offend someone if this is said. Good reading!

Small world we live in. I thought it was cool that Paul Koeninger, the guy that owned the house that kept getting robbed use to hang out and the car club helped run Thornhill Drag Strip. Tonight I was looking at FB and the new owner of Thornhill had posted his name up on FB. I ask about Paul and found out the Paul is the older brother of the new owner of Thornhill.

I knew a few old timers who were in this club at one time or another,
but one of them was from Boone county for sure

I have only spoke with Gary through PM's but now from the way I take it this may be his dad.
